School is out and summer has finally kicked in! That means it’s the perfect time for a ROAD TRIP!!

Texas is famous for it’s lush beautiful landscapes and scenic views. So why not get the family together for an outdoor experience unlike any other? Big Bend National Park, Big Bend National Park, TX – This is perhaps one of the most famous national parks in Texas as well as the entire country. This campground features some of the highest points and incredible rock formations in the state, which makes it great for backpacking. Campers can also Kayak along the Rio Grande River and discover some of the most beautiful views in all of Texas.

Possum Kingdom Lake, Young County, TX – If you’re not much of an outdoorsy person, but want to go get a camping experience, than Possum Kingdom Lake is the place for you. This campground is a utopia for water sports, fishing, and nature activities. While you’re there, make sure you check out the infamous “Hell’s Gate” cliff formation in the lake. You can even go cliff diving if you’re brave enough!

Davis Mountains State Park, Fort Davis, TX – This historic state park offers a plethora of outdoor activities and is home to some of the best horseback trails in Texas. This park also offers bird watching, star gazing tours, mountain biking and hundreds of miles of trails to be explored.

Colorado Bend State Park, Bend, TX – If you’re craving a sense of adventure, then head on out to this beautiful park located right outside of Austin. This park features multiple natural swimming holes, extreme mountain biking trails and cave diving tours. The main attraction, however, is the Gorman Falls, which is a 65-foot waterfall that looks like something out of a dream.

Dinosaur Valley State Park, Glen Rose, TX – This is definitely the most family friendly option on the list. Dinosaur Valley is known for it’s great hiking trails and dinosaur themed activities. You can explore the Paluxy River, which is filled with various dinosaur tracks, or dig for prehistoric fossils in the canyons. It’s all of the fun of Jurassic Park, without live dinosaurs!
